ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUMMER COURSE FOR 15 TO 18 YEAR OLDS

Overview

Updated: 1st May, 2025

Lite Regal Education’s Super Intensive Summer English Course is a fully immersive language program for students aged 15 to 18, held at the prestigious University of London, Oxford University, and University of Cambridge campuses. This residential summer experience includes full-board accommodation in a safe and secure environment, expert-led English lessons, and a variety of afternoon and evening activities. We welcome students of all English levels, from intermediate to those at a proficient level. It offers young learners the chance to live and breathe English in three of the UK’s most inspiring academic settings.

Designed specifically for students aged 15 to 18, the course ensures that all lessons, materials, and workshops are tailored to suit the learning style and academic needs of older teenagers preparing for university. Students benefit from engaging content that is both age-appropriate and level-appropriate, making learning more effective and enjoyable.

The program welcomes international students from all backgrounds, whether they are beginners or already advanced in their English skills. With over 40 hours of structured English instruction and workshops per week, students are guided by experienced professors from top UK universities. These educators specialize in teaching grammar, writing, reading, listening, and, most importantly, speaking. Classes are intentionally kept small—with no more than 10 students per group—to ensure focused attention and quicker progress.

Before the program begins, each student takes a free online placement test.

English Test | Lite Regal Education

Based on the results, they are grouped by their current level of English to ensure they’re learning with peers at a similar stage. This allows for more targeted teaching and a smoother learning journey. Students are placed across the full CEFR range, from beginner to near-native fluency:

  • A1 – Beginner: For students with no or very limited English ability.

  • A2 – Elementary: For basic communication and understanding of familiar topics.

  • B1 – Intermediate: For everyday conversation and clear expression of thoughts.

  • B2 – Upper-Intermediate: For fluency in discussing a variety of topics with accuracy.

  • C1 – Advanced: For flexible and well-structured communication in social and academic contexts.

  • C2 – Proficient: For near-native fluency and a high command of the English language.

A major focus of the course is building speaking confidence. Many students know grammar rules but hesitate to speak. That’s why this course includes real-life practice—ordering food, shopping, and socializing—all done in English. This full immersion eliminates the habit of translating from their native language and helps students think and speak in English naturally, like native speakers.

For those aiming to study at top universities in the UK and abroad, this course provides a crucial foundation. The UK is home to over 90 universities, including many ranked among the best in the world, and leading institutions typically require English proficiency at CEFR B2 or C1, often demonstrated through high IELTS scores (6.5 to 7.5). This program helps students begin preparing for those standards early on by strengthening the core skills needed for academic English. We also support students in preparing for and passing English proficiency tests, including CEFR level assessments and the IELTS exam, giving them the confidence and skills needed to succeed.

Unlike any other summer school, Lite Regal Education provides a truly unmatched English immersion experience. This isn’t just another language course—it’s a transformative program where students are surrounded by English in every part of their daily life. Through constant, purposeful exposure and expert guidance, students don’t just learn English—they start thinking and communicating like native speakers. This level of intensity and real-world practice is what sets Lite Regal Education apart.

Because class sizes are limited to ensure quality teaching, we recommend early enrollment to guarantee a place in this life-changing summer program.

Learning Syllabus and Course Content for 2025 Summer Intensive English (15-18)

This 2-week Summer Intensive English Course is designed for students aged 15–18 to improve their English skills in a fun, engaging, interactive environment, and to immerse themselves in 40 hours per week of dynamic and engaging English learning. The timetable balances structured language lessons in the mornings with hands-on, creative afternoon workshops, allowing students to apply what they learn in real-life and academic scenarios.

Each day begins with a focused lesson in a key area such as grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, or speaking. Lessons are age-appropriate, academically focused, and encourage student participation through discussions, debates, and practical tasks designed to prepare them for university-level study.

In the afternoons, students take part in practical workshops that build confidence and fluency. These include role plays, debates, presentations, interviews, and other real-world tasks designed to encourage spoken English and teamwork. Special sessions include mock university interviews and academic-style presentations to prepare students for the expectations of top UK and international universities. Workshops are varied and dynamic, helping students develop not only their language skills but also their creativity and communication.

A special rule is in place during lunch breaks: students are encouraged to speak only in English while ordering food or socializing. This gives them a chance to practice casual conversation and build natural fluency.

To support students in achieving their academic goals, the program also includes mock CEFR and IELTS exams, helping them become familiar with test formats and assess their readiness for university-level English requirements.

The course ends with a certificate ceremony and reflection session, where students celebrate their progress and achievements.

Accommodation

You will be accommodated in one of the College campuses. You will be allocated a room, usually sharing a twin room with another student of the same gender. Typically students will be accommodated on single-sex corridors or floors, with staff members and mentors always available on site. Living all together is a great way to make friends and sample the university lifestyle, as the welcoming environment allows you to develop a sense of community.

Breakfast and lunch is served and eaten in the College dining hall, which provides a bright and comfortable space for communal meals. Students will enjoy a varied and healthy diet: all meals are freshly prepared and special diets can be catered for with advance notice. A three-course dinner is provided daily either in the College dining hall, or in various restaurants as part of the social programme.

Safety and Security on Campus

Students will be overseen by our course leaders and residential staff to classes and activities, who ensure that students are looked after pastorally and socially during their summer school programme and are available to assist students at any time of the day or night.

All students will be issued with emergency contact details for staff members and will be given a full safety briefing on arrival.

Student welfare

LITE Regal Summer School offers a safe and secure environment that is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by our friendly and professional team. We have a dedicated team of Managers, Teachers and College Mentors. The welfare of our students is our main priority at all times and our staff specialise in the pastoral care of older teenagers.

Management Team

Our Management team is headed by the College Principal, who takes responsibility for the daily running of the summer school, and supervises the Academic Programme. The Social & Welfare Manager takes charge of the summer school Social Programme and is supported by a team of College Mentors, who ensure everyone is happy, safe and having fun.

Working together, our Managers ensure that every aspect of the summer school runs smoothly, safely and offers every student the chance to participate fully.

College Mentors

Our Mentors are key members of staff who support and assist our students within the college accommodation and throughout the summer school social programme. Our team of College Mentors work with our Social & Welfare Manager in organising the summer school’s social events and excursions, as well as accompanying students into campuses and during day trips. They are approachable and caring, ensuring that all students get involved in the life of the summer school.
