Advanced Medicine Summer Course for 18 - 24 year olds
The Advanced Medicine Course is for all Junior Doctors in theĀ UK and International Students who are currently on an MBBSĀ years 1-5 or a Medicine Related Degree (Dentist BDS/BChD) or similar for instance Psychology / Neuroscience MSc PG Dip or similar.

The point of the course is to further your knowledge and integrate your medical Skills with clinical skills in a UK Setting to make you an outstanding doctor and prepare you for you life as a working doctor.

Advanced Medicine Summer Course for 18 - 24 year olds

This is a thorough, challenging and intensive course for all junior doctors in the UK or overseas studying in Medicine School who would like to supplement their knowledge gained in their medical school and meet other Medic Students and study and live and learn in a one of the world leading universities in the world. The course and residential accommodation take place in the summer in one of the college of University of LondonĀ - (UOL) London and University of Cambridge - Hughes Hall . The 2 weeks Internships will always take place in Central London.

Course Overview of Advanced Medicine Summer Course
This course if aimed at all students 18+ who are pursuing a Doctors Degree in Medicine School (MBBS or similar) or a medicine related degree (see below) and aims at reinforcing your core knowledge in the core skills of medicine as well as gain clinical skills by interning and shadowing a working Doctor (MD) in a London Clinic. The course will have a lot of workshops in the afternoons to give the junior doctors hands on clinical skills workshops. Example and highlights of this advanced medicine Summer Course is the organ dissections and laparoscopic practice of artificial and real animal tissue and suturing. The course will also contain and go through Current Medical Research in Modern Medicine that all Medical Students should gain an insight into.
This course would be suitable for :
- All UK and Overseas Students already on an MBBS Course years 1-5
- Undergraduates in Science related Subjects ā BSc Genetics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology
- Undergraduates and Postgraduates in Degrees that can lead to medicine ā Biochemistry, Botany, Molecular Biology, Anatomy with Physiology for instance
This course can be taken from 2 weeks to 6 weeks depending on the applicants free time during the summer months. To get the maximum clinical skills it is recommended to take this course over the periods of 6 weeks although it is appreciated many junior doctors will have prior commitments.

The Core skills Foundation 1 and Core skills Foundation 2 for Junior Doctors core is aimed at cementing any knowledge gained in medical School in your country and introducing you to core basic principals of medicine that you may not have covered. Workshops and Clinical Skills
Laparoscopic Study - "Keyhole Surgery"
This is a Clinical workshop practical will run over the afternoon and students may additionally wish to practice these skills further. This is the gold standard of any surgery.Ā You will learn and practice intermediate to advanced laparoscopic examination and suturing skills using synthetic and animal tissue and animal organs. You will dissect various organs - heart , brain liver etc and practice laparoscopic sutures on these vessels and also synthetic tissues.
- Pass a needle and suture through tissues at suitable depth and distance for interrupted and continuous suturing
- Tie a safe laparoscopic Surgeonās knot
- Create a laparoscopic tumbled square knot
- Demonstrate continuous suturing, maintaining tension and completing the suture line safely
Students will learn the the use and benefits of laparoscopic surgery in gynecology, urology and gastroenterology.

Dissection Workshops in the Advanced Medicine Course
These dissection workshops typically occur in the afternoon - and follow on from the morning theory with a organ dissection in the afternoon. Nothing beats hands on Medicine and Lite Regal Advanced Medicine School aims to support and build your knowledge.

Internship - Doctor Shadowing Programmer
This course has a mandatory 2 week clinical experience phase organised by Lite Regal Education in which students intern and shadow a Doctor. We are the only such school with working relations with real working Doctor and surgeons who are willing to take under Junior Doctors from the UK and Overseas under their care as recommend by our College.
Clinical Experience is incredibly difficult to organise and find ā especially for overseas students not in the UK because of the vast layer of HS (Health and Safety) and confidentiality in place in working Clinics and Hospitals.
Lite Regal will organise the clinical experience for you as part of your course. Students will observing and help the Doctors (minimum will be MD / MBBS qualified Doctors or a surgeon) and understanding what they do on a daily basis. This helps Junior Doctors understand the challenges and rewards of the medical profession and envision themselves as working physicians. Spending time with doctors also helps students clarify and solidify their goals, confirming with certainty with fields in medicine they would like to specialise in their Post doctor specialisms.
All students will receive a certificate from the clinic and doctor they have interned with which will prove invaluable in their future.
All Internships will be in London and student will be accommodated in UOL Halls of Residence (University of London).

The 2 week Medicine Internship for each student is a fundamental part of the course in which studentsĀ gain clinical experience in the UK and LondonĀ are supervised and Intern and Shadow with a Doctor in Clinic or Hospital. All Medicine Internships will take place in London and Student will Intern with a Doctor from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm to put knowledge learned in the Lessons and medical school to āreal Situationsā. Student will learn to take detailed histories and Physical examiniations an misied to the clinic and with the supervision of the Doctor diagose and treat illnesses.
Where Are The Medical Internships Held
Internships are only London based! Due to the convenienceĀ and students demands the shadowing program is based in London.

Eligibility
Ensure that you fulfill the following criteria
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be from the UK or Overseas and currently in Medicine School years 1-5
- Finished High School with a good grade - GPA >3.5 (if you are already in Med School then please ignore this requirement)
- Have completed one year of college or be minimum first year student
- Have a valid passport or travel document
- Have a good level of English - CEFR b1 or IELTS 5-6 or do our internal English Test
- Be in good academic standing
- Be serious about attending a Medical Course and learning with other Medical Students from all over the world
